Dr. Mansur Bako Matazu is an accomplished academic and climate science professional with a strong foundation in geography and applied meteorology. Born on January 8, 1974, in Malumfashi, Katsina State, Nigeria, he holds Nigerian citizenship and is a committed family man with four children.

Dr. Matazu’s academic qualifications include a B.Sc. in Geography (1999), an M.Tech in Meteorology with Distinction (2003), and a Ph.D. in Geography with a specialization in Applied Meteorology (2012). His extensive educational background is complemented by professional diplomas and certifications in climate services, urban management for climate change, and social housing projects.

Dr. Matazu is affiliated with the Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, where he contributes to academic and research efforts in environmental and atmospheric sciences. His professional experience is further enriched by international training in climate frameworks, specifically through the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) program in Beijing, China. His contributions reflect a deep commitment to advancing climate and environmental knowledge.
